CQJ_0167Fall arrives and the temperature starts to drop and the air feels lighter giving us just a peak into winter. As temperatures drop so does humidity, which can leave our skin begging for hydration. With all the upcoming holiday travel this autumn/winter think mists, masks and hydrating protectors for the face and eyes.

Long work and travel days can leave skin thirsty and dull. For a quick pick-me-up try Omorzivia’s Queen of Hungary facial mist. We discovered this beautiful brand in London. The toning and protective mist is created with Hungarian healing waters. The fragrance is intoxicating and Jennifer Lopez is said to be fan. A must have!

To keep your complexion glowing and bright try Oskia’s Renaissance mask. This brightening mask is designed to increase cell turnover, boost radiance and packed with OSKIA’s trademark blend of beauty-boosting nutrients. This luxuriously-textured exfoliating mask leaves the complexion smoother, more refined and illuminated. A must have for traveling!

There is nothing quite as dehydrating than a plane ride. Start off smart by applying our new Plant Profusion Energetic Eye Cream and drinking lots of water. The proprietary blend of superior active ingredients improves the appearance of aging skin by protecting, repairing, and rehydrating the eye area. Reapply throughout the flight making sure to get the upper lids as well. If your flight is an overnight journey, apply a generous amount of our Regenerative Eye Cream onto washed skin. This ultra luxurious cream fights against inflammation, irritation and dryness while nourishing the skin with Organic Red Tea and Japanese Seaweed. Put on your sleep mask and you’ll wake up looking refreshed.

As always whether in the air, a car or just simply walking around and SPF is a must. Just because the temperature is dropping doesn’t mean your aren’t still getting harmful UV rays. For superior protection with an ultra lightweight feel, try our Sun Visor SPF30 mist. This can be misted on clean skin or over makeup.

Keeping skin hydrated during the Fall will be beneficial come winter time!

Screen Shot 2015-10-29 at 1.35.11 PMWe wanted to give her our Radiant Skin Renewal Starter Kit to put our skincare to the test. After two weeks of swapping out her normal skincare routine with ours, here is what she had to say!

1. What is the biggest problem you face with your skin?
Pigmentation and my ever changing skin type! One month I’m oily, the next my skin’s like the Sahara. Chubby cheeks and a love for the sun when I was younger has also left me with some less than desireable sunspots at the top of my cheeks that I’m slowly working away.

2. How did Goldfaden MD’s Radiant Renewal Starter Kit help?
The Goldfaden MD’s Starter Kit was fantastic at evening out my skin texture. Doing away with dull and dead skin and bringing forward glowing and smooth cells from underneath. This meant I was more confident to wear less makeup and when I did decide to still apply a full face, it was applied (and lasted) so much better than before.

3. What is your favorite part of the regimen and why?
I’m obsessed with the Doctor’s Scrub! A new face in a jar, it was perfect at night after a good cleanse to reveal gorgeously glowing skin each morning.

4. Have you noticed your skin behaving differently since using Goldfaden MD’s products?
I always suffer from hormonal blemishes on my chin but I definitely found that they were less intense and also disappeared again a lot quicker using the starter kit each day.

5. Would you recommend GFMD to your reader’s? Why?
Definitely! Especially for those with dull, lifeless skin that are looking for a kickstart that works. The scrub is phenomenal, the serum packed with all the antioxidant protection you need and the cleanser and moisturizer reliable staples that will never lose my love.

Goldfaden MD products can now be found at Mecca Cosmetica, select locations.

We enlisted the skin experts at LovelySkin to weigh in on the changing seasons and how we need to adjust our skincare routine with each one. Read what they had to say.

When the weather fluctuates, we naturally change our wardrobe to stay comfortable and accommodate our bodies for the elements. Shifting seasons can bring about significant changes in your skin, and just as you switch your clothes, you may need to adjust your skin care products to keep your complexion balanced and healthy.

Screen Shot 2015-10-19 at 11.17.53 AMBefore we look at the skin concerns that often accompany each season, it’s important to note that everyone is different. Some individuals may not need to make significant changes to their skin care arsenal each season, while others may need to carry out a total overhaul. There is no such thing as a one-size-fits-all regimen, so you’ll want to examine your skin carefully—it should be able to tell you exactly what it needs. And remember, broad spectrum sun protection, like GOLDFADEN MD Sun Visor, is a must every day, rain or shine, no matter the season.

Autumn

You may begin to notice skin dryness early on in autumn as cool, moisture-depleted air begins to take the place of humidity. When coupled with sun and chlorine damage leftover from summer, this cool air has the potential to leave skin uncomfortably tight. Fine lines and wrinkles may become more pronounced and skin may appear dull and lackluster. The vampy, matte makeup styles of fall may only pronounce the problem!

Winter is also famous for inducing excess dryness, but making the proper changes in the fall can prevent dry skin from growing itchy, flaky and irritated come December. First, amp up your moisture level by switching your summer lotion for a cream. Creams are thicker and tend to provide a stronger barrier against dehydration. Applying body lotion while skin is still damp after a shower is a great way to lock in moisture and maintain softness and suppleness. You’ll also want to exfoliate with GOLDFADEN MD Doctor’s Scrub once or twice a week to remove any skin cells and dulling debris.

Winter

Harsh winds and cold, dry air can exacerbate the dryness of autumn and throw skin off balance. Excessive dryness may bring about redness, flakiness and irritation, and it may even prompt excess oil production, resulting in acne breakouts.

In addition to a day cream, you can add a rich night cream, like GOLDFADEN MD Regenerative Night Cream, to your regimen to help plump and hydrate skin while you sleep. You may also need to up your exfoliation, switching to GOLDFADEN MD Doctor’s Scrub Advanced to smooth any rough patches and encourage a brighter complexion. Hands are prone to roughness and cracking in winter. In addition to wearing gloves when outdoors, you can apply GOLDFADEN MD Hands to Heart daily. Finally, adding GOLDFADEN MD Fresh A Peel to your routine can help provide additional exfoliation and reveal a radiant complexion.

Spring

Come spring, you’ll begin to recover from winter dryness without yet experiencing the oil-inducing humidity of summer. Skin that was hidden away under pants and long sleeves during the fall and winter months will be revealed again, and you may discover rough patches on the feet, knees and elbows.

You’ll want to continue exfoliating once a week to maintain a bright, even complexion, and in later spring you can trade your cream for a lotion for lightweight hydration. Focus on rough patches in stubborn areas of the body with GOLDFADEN MD Doctor’s Scrub Advanced. Spring is a wonderful time to try new things and throw away any products that have expired. Check formulas to be sure they haven’t changed in color, smell or consistency and toss any sunscreens older than a year. Try GOLDFADEN MD Fleuressence Native Botanical Cell Oil to give skin a healthy glow and get it summer-ready.

Summer

In summer, you may find yourself spending time outdoors nearly every day and enjoying frequent dips in the pool or ocean. Hotter temperatures can bring about heavy perspiration and oily skin, resulting in frequent breakouts. If you are prone to hyperpigmentation, sun exposure may induce dark spots and freckles or worsen symptoms of melasma.

Keep acne at bay by cleansing with GOLDFADEN MD Pure Start twice daily. You’ll also need to continue to exfoliate at least once a week to remove the bacteria responsible for blemishes and keep pores free of clogging debris. Many believe that oily skin eliminates the need for a moisturizer, but in actuality, skin exposed to air conditioning, chlorine and saltwater requires a lightweight lotion or serum. To keep skin plump and hydrated and strengthen it against environmental stressors, try GOLDFADEN MD Radical Difference. To address dark spots, you may need to add a lightening treatment, like GOLDFADEN MD Light Treatment, to your routine.

When faced with the task of rehabilitating skin between any season, choose GOLDFADEN MD Skin Renewal Starter Kit. The kit contains Doctor’s Scrub, Pure Start and Vital Boost to encourage a smooth complexion with a healthy, radiant glow.
