Pale is the New Tan 20’s and 30’s

In honor of Skincare Awareness month, we will be sharing a very special campaign titled, Pale is the New Tan. This campaign will share sun safety and skincare advice from a few of our favorite Goldfaden MD clients, founders and advocates! From age 20 thru the 70’s we’ve got tips, product suggestions and skincare advice. There is a definite theme across the board about staying out of the sun!

THE 20’s

Stephanie Gee, owner and co-founder of GEE Beauty is no stranger to skincare and makeup. Born and raised on both, she is a wealth of knowledge well beyond her years. We caught up with Stephanie in Toronto at GEE Beauty.

Skin type: Oily/combination

Age: Mid-twenties

Biggest concern: Controlling my oil production!

SPF of choice + why? I love the Goldfaden Sun Visor because it’s oil free (major key), lightweight and doesn’t leave me with a white film on my skin

Have you ever had skin cancer? No I have not

What treatments do you get and what are they?  I do mini facials once a week at Gee Beauty that consist of micro and IPL to reduce pore size and prevent pigmentation. Doing this combination has dramatically improved my skin. I am huge believer in mini treatments, more often for optimal results.

Recommendation for sun safety + skincare: It’s all about self-tanner! Forget sitting in the sun – we are all so aware of the damage it causes. I love sunless tanning lotions because I can control the color and maintain it easily. I love the Dr. Gross Glow Pads for the face because they contain a small amount of lactic acid so I don’t breakout!

The 30’s

Lauren Wolk Goldfaden needs no introduction as one of the co-founders and Vice President of Sales of Goldfaden MD. When asked what her least favorite thing is, she replied “the Sun”. Who would know better than her about the harmful side effects and how to battle them!

What is your skin type? oily

How old are you? 32

Biggest skincare concern? Hyper-pigmentation and forehead wrinkles

What’s your SPF #? Sun Visor 30 and I always wear a hat when in sun!

Have you ever had pre-skin cancer or skin cancer? No

How often do you get skincare treatments done to battle sun damage? I am an exfoliation junkie. During and after my pregnancy, I suffered from Melasma. I use Doctors Scrub Advanced six days a week followed by Needle-less on my forehead ( fine lines and wrinkles), Light Treatment and our new Plant Profusion Supreme Serum to ward of dark spots and deliver brightness. Once a week I use Fresh a Peel for brightening.

What would you tell your younger self about sun safety? Wear SPF always

My recommendation for sun safety + skincare moving forward: Exfoliate, exfoliate, exfoliate and massive amounts of sun screen
