About Seedlip:

In 2013, Ben discovered ‘The Art of Distillation’, a book written in 1651 outlining distilled herbal remedies–both alcoholic and not. Ever the tinkerer, Ben was inspired to purchase a small copper still and experiment with distilling herbs grown in his garden at home.

After a few months’ time, while dining at an upscale London restaurant, Ben ordered a non-alcoholic cocktail. To his dismay, he was served a pink, sugary drink that neither paired with the meal, nor the atmosphere.

And so began two meticulous years of perfecting the world’s first distilled non-alcoholic spirit. Ben launched Seedlip Spice 94 in London’s Selfridges on November 4th, 2015. His first handmade 1,000 bottles sold out within three weeks, the second thousand in three days, and the third batch in 30 minutes online.

The pioneering movement of offering those not drinking alcohol a sophisticated, adult option has since become a segment all its own: the ever-growing no & low alcohol category.

Seedlip now has three expressions: aromatic Seedlip Spice 94; herbal Seedlip Garden 108; and citrus-forward Seedlip Grove 42–all without alcohol, calories or sugar. Seedlip is available in 28 markets worldwide in over 10,000 bars, restaurants, hotels, and retailers, including 300 Michelin Star restaurants and the majority of the 50 Best Cocktail Bars in the world–and direct-to-consumer online at www.seedlipdrinks.com/us.

Ben Branson, Founder of Seedlip

Seedlip is the product of Ben Branson’s upbringing. His mother’s side has been farming in England for nine generations–over 300 years. Ben’s father, on the other hand, has been in the branding and design industry for over 40 years. Ultimately, that’s where Ben got his start–establishing a branding agency of his, working with the likes of Nike, Unilever and Absolut Vodka, as well as smaller startups. He is truly a product of both his parents, with an obsession and love for the natural world, and an eye for design.

The Liquid:

Seedlip can be used to replace any traditional spirit in a simple serve: 2oz. topped with a splash of Ginger Ale, Tonic or Club Soda, or as the base for more complex cocktails–many outlined within our Cocktail Book.

Seedlip is produced by way of a bespoke 6-week maceration, distillation, filtration, and blending process. Each expression is a combination of 6 individually distilled natural botanicals that have been meticulously processed to create a uniquely flavorful, clear, shelf-stable spirit. The liquid itself contains no alcohol, sugar or calories.

Danielle Duboise

Name: Danielle Duboise + Whitney Tingle

Who are you, and what do you stand for?

D: I’m a child of the desert, a mother and lover. I stand for Mother Nature, nourishment and helping others shine their brightest lights.

W: I’m Whitney. Co-founder & Co-CEO of Sakara Life. I’m on a mission to help people experience the life-transforming power of plants.

On those days when you’re not feeling 100 percent, what do you do to give yourself a confidence boost?

D: Eat my Sakara greens, take our probiotic and tell my body thank you. Tomorrow is another day.

W: I try to do something to shift my energy. Whether that’s calling my best friend (Danielle) or doing some movement and playing my harmonium, I try to do something that gets me out of my head and lifts my spirits.

What activities would you say are part of your self-care routine? And how do you make time for self-care?

D: I set aside time to breathe every morning (currently obsessed with Ziva Meditation!) and I work with a life coach via The Handel Group. It’s been LIFE CHANGING. She holds me accountable for everything. It kicks my butt but it has helped me grow in so many ways. I love to be challenged like that. I also try and move every day. Whether it’s walks with my family and dog or trying a new online class (Ballet Beautiful, Sculpt Society, and Melissa Wood Health are my current favorites)! I also take The Foundation every single day. It’s Sakara’s new supplement line and they’re the cleanest most nourishing supplements on the market. I feel such a difference taking them.

W: A big part of my current self-care routine is setting aside time to fill my brain with information that will help stimulate ideas, inspiration and creativity. That’s what we try to offer with our Sakara Life Podcast – and I like listening to other podcasts like The Doctor’s Farmacy, On Being, Esther Perel, and the Goop Podcast. As of late, I’ve also really been focused on maintaining my “normal” routine: eating my Sakara meals 3 to 5 days a week and trying to dedicate at least 20 minutes a day for some sort of movement whether it’s taking a walk or doing an online class. I’ve really been into Melissa Wood Health, The Class, Sculpt Society, and Caravan Wellness.

What are three words that come to mind when you think of your body?

D: Powderful, loving and nourished

W: Resilient, Feminine, Human

What are some of your favorite foods that keep your skin healthy?

D: At Sakara, we believe that beautiful skin comes from a nourished body and a healthy microbiome. That means eating a plant-rich, nutrient-rich diet and eating foods high in water content– Eating your water is the secret to the Sakara Glow.

I also make sure to drink plenty of water everyday and always add our Sakara Beauty Water Drops. We often forget that skincare starts with what we put into our bodies.  These drops help make your water more absorbable by your cells, allowing for more hydration.

W: Leafy greens! At Sakara we always talk about eating your water and it really is so important for having healthy skin and ensuring it’s properly hydrated at all times. I always try to eat a rainbow of veggies (carrots, beets, cucumbers) to provide phytonutrients that are essential for circulation. I also LOVE adding hemp and pumpkin seeds to my salads as they contain essential fatty acids that are great for anti-aging.

What does your current skincare routine look-like, specifically for your body?

D: For my face: I exfoliate every morning with Dr. Goldfaden Scrub. Sometimes if I have an extra 10 minutes, I’ll steam my face over a boiling pot with 2-3 bags of Sakara Detox Tea inside. It’s very high in antioxidants and steaming always helps my pores.

For my body: I love dry brushing. It’s an incredible way to exfoliate your skin and improve circulation.

W: I start with the inside – make sure I am eating well (eating enough fresh, organic plants in my diet) and taking a good probiotic like our Sakara Daily Probiotic.

I love goop’s G.Day Ginger and Ashwagandha Bodywash for in the shower. Then, while my skin is still a bit damp, I like to follow with either goop’s G.day black pepper + rose hip energy body oil or body lotion by Lxmi

What are some of your favorite body treatments?

D: Lymphatic drainage from Anna Zahn at Ricari Studios + dry brushing everyday.

W: Who doesn’t love a good massage. Dreaming of the day when the world is back to “normal” and I can get a good massage.

If you could get the world to change its collective mind about one issue or adopt one way of being, what would it be and why?

D: We have to lift each other up and help others shine their brightest lights. No one is a threat to our success except ourselves.

W: Food is medicine. What you eat impacts every aspect of your body and life, and the planet. Once we all understand that and decide it to be true, we can work collectively to drive down the prices of healthy foods and create a healthier place to live for all.

Fill in the blank:

W: dill is underrated.

D: Bacteria and the microbiome is underrated.

*P.S. I hate dill! Sorry, D! 😛

Meet Sylwia Wiesenberg. An inner and outer health & beauty guru who is embarking on a mission to create skincare for your most overlooked body part: your butt. Sylwia was born in Poland, and has traveled and lived all over the world. She’s pursued many adventures and careers, and eventually landed in New York City. Sylwia’s fascination with butts came from her early days as a gymnast and an athlete. She experienced and saw the strength, power, and beauty of the booty. Sylwia knows the butt to be an incredible muscle, and has seen first hand that it can also be a motivator and an extension of personality and sensuality, which she thinks is pretty awesome. She believes every butt has its own individuality and uniqueness and should be celebrated, helping each and every body feel confident in their own skin.

Sylwia is also the founder of DOPE Naturally (a wellness product brand) and Tonique Fitness (a fitness brand).

What lead you to start BAWDY?

It was my passion for, and really my obsession with, butts and my overall love for the uniqueness in beauty and strength of a human body, that lead to the creation of BAWDY. That, and the fact that the beauty industry offered absolutely nothing for butt beauty other than offering anti- cellulite and anti-stretch marks creams that create insecurities in women, shaming them for apparently being imperfect. I believe beauty is about having fun and is is about celebrating individuality in a fun and unapologetic way. That is why I decided to launch BAWDY.

If you could explain BAWDY

BAWDY is unapologetic, individual, unique and always a leading edge clean beauty brand.

BAWDY is a way of being free, expressing yourself and your sexuality, loving your body and loving yourself. It provides the opportunity to be sensual, and give you g the opportunity to touch and feel yourself.

BAWDY also stands for responsibility, delivering the highest quality ingredients that are safe for you and Mother Earth. Later this year I will begin introducing advances in sustainability in both new product releases and packaging.

Do you strive to inspire others through BAWDY?

Of course, it is my goal! I want others to be unapologetically themselves. What matters in life is honesty, realness and raw, authentic beauty and BAWDY stands behind it. Beauty is supposed to make you feel good and smile because you do it for yourself not to please others.

What is your favorite part of working in the beauty industry? What is your least favorite?

There are so many favorite parts! I would say creating and developing. I view it like creating art. You engage with a certain medium and start creating the piece. I could create new products daily. One of my most favorite parts of this creation is working with ingredients. I love to cook, and to forage for ingredients daily at local farmers markets; always searching for the next unique find. It is the same with formulating new products.

I love when an idea pops into my head and then I search for the ingredients to make it possible. It is good platform to apply your creativity and see far can you go to fill the gap.

One thing that I dislike is old school beauty. it is something that drives me to work even harder; to change some of the narrow-minded, old established parts of the industry.

What is the best piece of advice that anyone has ever given you?

Create and never be afraid of your dreams and failures … there is absolutely nothing to lose in trying new things, and failure is a huge part of success.

What is your goal through BAWDY?

Provide more than just clean beauty, be a responsible brand that always delivers a fun experience to the customer – a brand that is already changing the beauty industry by allowing people to take care of other parts of their bodies. I now see other independent brands introducing butt beauty, but in a cautious way, almost afraid to discuss their own products – that it is taboo just to talk! I want to talk about it!

Eventually, I would like to use my success in BAWDY to seed others and help them to achieve their dreams.

What is your favorite indulgence?

Ice cream and lingerie

When it comes to your beauty routine, what is one item you can not live without?

Movement! My daily two hour session of TONIQUE, and of course my CBD butt balm…and to complete the look, a great red lipstick

Beyond BAWDY, are there any mantras or rituals that help ground you when things get overwhelming?

Tonique method ( my daily very long meditation! )

How do you like to wind down and make sure you’re taking care of yourself?

Stop looking at my phone – Tonique, surf and horseback riding…and sex; but not all at the same time hahah
