Off to New York!

I’m on my way to New York City today to celebrate my cousin and best friend, Jessica’s bachelorette weekend! I am beyond excited for all the festivities which I cannot divulge right now incase she is reading this.

So just a few travel tips to share today. When I fly I always bring my compression socks so that my legs don’t get cramped and swollen. My favorite brand is Zensah and my favorite color is their hot pink. I also try to drink a ton of water the night before I fly so that I can get a jump on staying hydrated. Carrying water on the plane is also a must. According to Everydayhealth.com “The air inside the cabin of a plane usually has a humidity level of 10 to 20 percent — much lower than a comfortable typical indoor humidity of 30 to 65 percent.” Obviously try to avoid drinking alcohol while flying as this can really dehydrate your body.

On longer flights it is crucial to get up and stretch your legs. Walk the length of the plane a few times. Try not to cross your legs while seated, as this causes circulation to be compromised. In some very rare cases blood clots (Deep Vein Thrombosis) can form in your legs which can be extremely dangerous and life threatening.  Compression socks can help with this!

I always have an in-flight bag full of gum, mints, tissue, makeup, facial misting spray, Vitamin D, sunscreen, flip flops, a toothbrush, deodorant and hand lotion. This way I’m fresh and ready to hit the ground running upon arrival.

Bon Voyage and have a fabulous weekend!
