The beauty look we’re loving for Spring 2016 is THE GLOW. An illuminated, flawless-looking complexion radiates the look of health, vitality and fresh energy – everything that Spring represents essentially. The secret to achieving a gorgeous, golden-touched glow starts with the right skincare. A consistent regimen of exfoliation, protection and hydration will create a smooth, even-toned canvas perfect for light, breathable natural-looking makeup.Gee-Beauty-Tinted-P#14D49B1

In warmer temperatures, we like to swap out our foundation for a tinted primer. Gee Beauty’s Prime Skin Tinted Power Primer is the perfect light, breathable, oil-free, hydrating and brightening base that gives great coverage without weighing down or ‘covering’ the skin. The complexion instantly looks fresh, flawless and polished, with a semi-matte finish. Next we like to press a cream blush into cheekbones to create definition and give a pop of nectar-pink color. Using a cream formulation lends well to an illuminated, soft, dewy look. Our best-selling shade Afterglow can even double as color for eyes and lips.

Finish the look with a dusting of bronzer which you can contour the top of the forehead, the temples and under the cheekbone for added definition. The Gee Beauty Fan Brush is a must-have makeup tool to create natural-looking contour because it gently transfers makeup without looking heavy, plus its wide enough you can dust along the jawline, collarbone and shoulders – its essential to blend everything into the hairline and neckline for a flawless finish.Gee_Beauty_Fan_Brush2

Brush brows upward and fill in with our Precision Brow Pencil to create added fullness and to really frame the face (full looking brows give a modern, youthful look and can take years off your appearance).

The look for lips is all about fullness with nude, pink, blush and bright shades. For lips that last, line the outer edges of the lips with pencil and fill in completely, then apply a creamy luxury formula with opaque color to create dimension. A Gee Thing and Hello Gorgeous are the perfect blush-nude and medium-pink hydrating, softening lipsticks with major staying power.

For a little added shimmer, apply a light dusting of illuminating powder along the

tops of the cheekbones, down the center of the nose, and just above the center of the lip (the cupid’s bow) to complete the Gee Gorgeous Golden Glow.

Jane Kirby is a fashion illustrator, formerly worked in the Conde Nast beauty dept. & beauty blogger to be. Not to mention she’s one of our biggest supporters and a friend. We asked her some questions on life, beauty and her go-to Goldfaden MD product. Here’s what she had to say!

Screen Shot 2015-11-06 at 2.40.32 PMOur girl Lisa Goldfaden painted by the beautiful Jane Kirby.

1. What is your definition of beauty?
A radiant complexion and life filled with my family, friends and my beloved cat Taco.

2. What and who inspires you?
Editor-in-Chief Polly Blitzer of www.beautyblitz.com has always been a great inspiration. Her unparalleled excitement and unique eye for all things beauty is aspirational for me. That coupled with a genuinely kind personality makes her a delight to be around.

3. What is your beauty routine?
I cleanse my face with Orlane Purifying Lotion. This is followed by Orlane Anagenese 25+ Morning Recovery Concentrate Serum. Next, I apply Fresh Lotus Youth Preserve eye cream. For a moisturizer I’ll use Estee Lauder Advanced Time Zone cream. I treat my neck with Goldfaden MD Plant Profusion Lifting Neck Cream. Usually I’ll switch up moisturizers with SPF according to the season.

4. What is one skincare product you cannot live without (you don’t have to choose GFMD)?
Nighttime: Biodara Luminous Cleansing Oil to remove makeup.
Daytime: Eyeko’s Black Magic Mascara daily, it’s a key part of my signature look
Bi-weekly: Gentle peel I’ll use Bliss Triple Oxygen Instant Energizing mask
Everyday: The skincare product I cannot live without is Orlane Creme Royale Elixir Cream

5. How old were you when you painted the first time?
I began painting fashion illustrations in high school. My mother, Diana Robinson, is a British Milliner and artist. She taught me the love of expressing oneself through color and form.

6. What is your favorite color?
Red. I especially love it in the rich, jewel toned red found in the luxury organic cosmetic packaging of Kjaer Weis.

7. What is your favorite word?
My favorite word is luminous. It describe an ‘other worldly glow’ and connotes an air of mystery.

8. What is your favorite smell?
Gardenia mixed with tuberose. I’m addicted to the fragrances Bond 09 “Saks Fifth Avenue for Her,” Rojas “Lilly” and Robert Picquet “Fracas”.

9. What was the catalyst for you to start “women in beauty” series?
My admiration of various women in beauty: new leaders and industry veterans. I had a great opportunity to segue this work into live ten minute client portraits for Emily Dougherty Beauty Director at Elle, Julia Sloan at NARS, Sephora Times Square, NYC flagship stores and many private birthday, holiday events.

10. What is a typical breakfast for you?
A typical breakfast starts with a cup of my brother’s coffee based on Orcas Island, Seattle. I have it shipped by the bags! Next I’ll eat a banana with slow cooked oatmeal. Often I’ll add fresh raspberries for an anti-oxidant measure!

Screen Shot 2015-10-29 at 1.35.11 PMWe wanted to give her our Radiant Skin Renewal Starter Kit to put our skincare to the test. After two weeks of swapping out her normal skincare routine with ours, here is what she had to say!

1. What is the biggest problem you face with your skin?
Pigmentation and my ever changing skin type! One month I’m oily, the next my skin’s like the Sahara. Chubby cheeks and a love for the sun when I was younger has also left me with some less than desireable sunspots at the top of my cheeks that I’m slowly working away.

2. How did Goldfaden MD’s Radiant Renewal Starter Kit help?
The Goldfaden MD’s Starter Kit was fantastic at evening out my skin texture. Doing away with dull and dead skin and bringing forward glowing and smooth cells from underneath. This meant I was more confident to wear less makeup and when I did decide to still apply a full face, it was applied (and lasted) so much better than before.

3. What is your favorite part of the regimen and why?
I’m obsessed with the Doctor’s Scrub! A new face in a jar, it was perfect at night after a good cleanse to reveal gorgeously glowing skin each morning.

4. Have you noticed your skin behaving differently since using Goldfaden MD’s products?
I always suffer from hormonal blemishes on my chin but I definitely found that they were less intense and also disappeared again a lot quicker using the starter kit each day.

5. Would you recommend GFMD to your reader’s? Why?
Definitely! Especially for those with dull, lifeless skin that are looking for a kickstart that works. The scrub is phenomenal, the serum packed with all the antioxidant protection you need and the cleanser and moisturizer reliable staples that will never lose my love.
